A wild animal is suspected to be responsible for the death of two domestic animals last week in Gituamba location within Gatundu North sub-county in Kiambu county.
Residents in the area of have been called upon to be on the lookout following those suspicions.
Speaking on Sunday, the area chief Anthony Ngaruiaya said the wild animal is yet to be sighted by the residents in the area although many residents are suspecting it to be a leopard. So far a three months old calf and a sheep have been killed leaving another sheep with injuries.
"I am calling upon Gituamba people to be on the lookout to have the situation arrested immediately. Meanwhile KWS officers will on Monday be on the ground in search of the animal," he said in Gituamba on Sunday.
Ngaruiya said that he reported the matter to the KWS offices in Gatundu town soon after receiving the information from one of the residents. He urged KWS officers to immediately set a trap in Gatunguru where the alleged animal is said to have committed the killings.
