Residents of Rhonda slums in Nakuru now fear cholera outbreak following heavy rains that caused floods on Thursday. They said that the pit latrines they use were flooded hence causing more fear of cholera outbreaks in the area. 

They are now urging public health officials to tour the area and help to avert any waterborne diseases. 

Samuel Owino, a resident in Rhonda said that all the sewers that have been directed to the slums is now causing panic of cholera outbreak,he said the pit latrines in the area were also swept away by floods disposing human wastes . 

Ronda slums is among the areas that experience cholera outbreak early this year. The Nakuru Red Cross officials are fortunately already at the scene trying to find out how the affected families can be assisted.
