Three vehicles have been nabbed along Mang’u-Gatundu town road on Monday during a morning crackdown.
According to Shandrack Kiongo, the officer in charge of the operation said the three were found speeding.
Speaking at Mang’u police block, Kiongo said matatu cannot be allowed to operate in unruly behaviour risking passengers lives.
“We have this morning nabbed three vehicles which were over-speeding a long Mangu-Gatundu road. We have also arrested two conductors and the three drivers,” the police said.
“Gatundu North traffic police department have had several trainings of road safety to motorists. It’s worrying to note that some drivers still don’t seem to care about the lives of the passengers they carry,” Kiongo said.
The arrested have been held at Gatundu waiting to be charged.
Kiongo said police crackdowns will continue to curb careless driving.
