Kisii's United Republican Party (URP) point man Ongwae Mekenye has defected to opposition coalition Cord.
Ongwae in a Facebook post insisted that Jubilee Party was so corrupt to be trusted.
"Jubilee is very corrupt am in Cord to stay," said Mekenye, in the post.
The post attracted a lot of reactions from his supporters.
Kepha Wesley from his home constituency asked him to vie for area Mp with an ODM ticket and they will support him.
"Welcome home Mekenye you have made the right decision now vie with an ODM ticket and we shall support you," said Wesley.
Though some supporters asked him to consult elders before making such a move because he was URP's kingpin in Kisii.
A comment from Lilian Kwamboka cautioned his moves as she asked the leader to take time before making decisions.
"In 2013 you lost narrowly its high time you console elders before making the decision," said a comment by Lilian Kwamboka.
This comes barely two months after Kisii Deputy Governor led a team of delegates from Kisii to Deputy president's home in Uasin Gishu.
It is not yet clear whether the move was a way of punishing URP after the party trusted Maangi and not Mekenye who has been loyal to the party.
Efforts to reach Mekenye to shed more light over the same proved futile since his phone was switched off.
