Nyamira County Assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko has expressed his disappointment in youths who disrupted the county youth summit on Sunday.
The summit was organised by several youth groups among them Nyamira Youth Senate, Youth Can Group and Nyamira Youth Council.
The groups were to come up with a single movement to advance youths' agenda.
Nyamoko who was among the invited speakers to the occasion made an effort to reach Nyamaiya Stadium only to find a deserted stadium.
“I am very disappointed that the youth cannot speak with one voice. It’s really a big challenge that you have to bury your differences and come with a common goal for all youths. At the end of it all, its youths who losses if you don’t speak as one voice regardless of the faction you lead,” he said.
Nyamoko also faulted the event organisers for allegedly not informing the police about the Youth Summit.
“To hold such an event without inconveniencing some of us as it has just happened, you have to reach all stakeholders to avoid such confusion,” he added.
The county speaker also challenged the organisers of the botched meeting to go to the drawing board and reconvene another summit by starting from the grassroots.
