Residents of Kalandini village in Matungulu sub location have been warned against too much consumption of alcohol when one has to walk home during this rainy season.
The warning was issued by Kalandini location chief Benedict Mutinda following the death of a 26-year-old man on Friday morning.
The man is said to have drowned as he returned home from a drinking den in Kisukioni market along the Tala-Ndunyu Sabuk road.
"The young man had been drinking according to his friends," the chief said.
"He left as rains were about to fall and it is suspected he drowned at a nearby stream."
Mr Mutinda following the incident warned residents against drunkenness during heavy rains.
The young man's body was taken to Kangundo hospital mortuary by officers from Tala Police Station.
