Sensi ward MCA Onchonga Nyagaka has challenged teachers to distance themselves from examination malpractices that destroy the reputation of the country's education sector.
Nyagaka said exam leakages paints the education sector in bad light and urged teachers to let Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam candidates to do their exams independently.
He also challenged standard eight pupils in his ward not to engage in irregularities during their final exams.
According to the ward representative, when pupils answer questions independently, they test themselves on how to pursue future careers genuinely.
“Teachers should leave KCPE candidates to do their exams independently, we don’t want to hear any case of exam cheating,” said Nyagaka.
“I wish all candidates the best of luck in their final primary school exams,” said Nyagaka.
He challenged teachers to put more effort when teaching pupils in schools so that they can pass overwhelmingly in their national exams.
