This is a topic that most Nakuru ladies, just as all ladies in the world are sensitive about and may bring forth arguments as if their lives depended on it.
Some may argue that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but all the fact still remains that trashy and classy are not one and the same thing.
Ladies should know that there is a thin line between being classy and trashy. However, what is important is that there is a difference regardless of one’s background.
Trashy is what is mostly experienced in places that the young go for revs or go to have fun especially during the weekend.
In most cases, those whose clothes are trashy know it as they may end up disappearing as soon as they meet their ‘big brothers’ or relatives by accident in the hang out joints. That is when the cliché ‘May the earth open up and swallow me’, also pops on their minds.
The good news is that there are pointers to determine whether one’s dress is trashy or classy through several ways.
Some of these pointers include;
1. Not showing off too much
There is a rule that a lady should reveal one part of the body at a time i.e. If a lady shows off her legs, she should not show off her cleavage. The secret is to ensure that not too much is revealed and that. Remember, too much of something is poisonous. You are likely to attract the people you target by what you wear e.g. in the case of marketers.
2. Footwear
Most Nakuru ladies, just like a lot of ladies consider it classy to wear heels as they can change your posture and the way you carry yourself. Some may also say that heels give you an extra boost of confidence. However, ensure that you can walk in the pair of heels that you choose. You do not want to end up like you are being pushed from behind while walking. Rest assured that people will notice your funny walking style and you may end up being the laughed at especially by men.
3. Jewellery
One should choose jewellery that is suitable for the outfit that they are wearing. This is because jewellery can change how an outfit looks on a person. Again, remember the rule of five which states that a lady should not have more than five pieces of jewellery at a time. Jewellery does not have to be exaggerated. It can still be simple and smart, thus serving its function of making one a classy woman.
4. Makeup
The purpose of makeup is that it is supposed to enhance a person’s look. In Nakuru, there are some ladies who wear too much make up and they become an unpleasant sight to watch. This has led to some people coming up with jokes about the same where they ask the ladies not to wear too much make up on Sunday lest the maker fails to recognise them. This point brings to mind a story that was published by the Daily Mail where an Algerian man took his wife to court after seeing her without makeup for the first time the morning after their wedding. The said man went ahead to accuse his wife of being a thief who had broken into his house. I hope this story drives the point home.
5. The size of the dress
The size of one’s dress or skirt is also a determinant in knowing whether one is trashy or classy. Chances are that if your skirt or dress is too short, you may come off as trashy. One should ask the question whether the length of their dress or skirt will lead them to landing that CEO's job or whether they will be comfortable in the dress or skirt if they are presented before an elder .
One thing that ladies should remember is that they should dress like women of honour, women to be addressed.
