Residents at a backstreet in Kisii town after heavy rains.
The market is very dirty, and often inaccessible after rains. Many traders are forced to close their businesses for the day, and for those who brave the hostile weather and muddy road, not may customers show up, except those looking to buy vegetables in the evening.
The small-scale traders have been calling on the county government to repair the roads, whose huge potholes water gathers, but not much has been done so far.
