The Jubilee party was beaten in the just concluded Nyangores Ward by-elections in Bomet County last Friday.

This is unusual since the area is believed to be a stronghold of the Jubilee party through Deputy President William Ruto.

The speaker of the National Government and the Sotik MP, Joyce Laboso had seriously campaigned for the Jubilee Party in the area, however, her efforts were in vain as the people had made up their mind. According to the residents, Jubilee is a party full of promises but no action.

Peter Keter, who is a student in Nairobi says the main reason why the party led by President Uhuru Kenyatta was washed by PPPK’s flag bearer, Andrew Maritim, is because many people feel Jubilee is not trustworthy.

‘‘Jubilee is good at making promises but they fail to deliver. The government, through the deputy president, promised to build a university in Bomet County but there is nothing being done, not even the foundation of the university has been laid. All these factors will definitely lead to people choosing another person,’’ said Keter.
