Nakuru branch TNA chairman Samwel Githaiga now wants residents to thoroughly vet current political leaders who have announced their re-election bids in next year's general election saying a majority have failed in their duties.
Speaking to journalists in Nakuru town Wednesday, Githaiga stated most of the leaders have not taken into consideration the electorate that voted them into office and have only done things that only benefit them.
‘Let us get leaders who will be able to work for us so that all of us can benefit. I don’t intent to vie for any political seat as of now but I am ready to work for the party,’ added Githaiga.
He also asked politicians to maintain peace and harmony as they go about their campaigns saying without peace, it will be hard for the county and Kenya at large to develop.
According to him, tribalism should not be part of Nakuru politics saying the county is cosmopolitan.
‘Nakuru residents should maintain peace just as was the case in the 2013 general election. I would urge everyone to remain peaceful so that Nakuru and Kenya at large can develop,’ said the chairman.
On the other hand, he has warned those using politics to tarnish other people’s names saying politics should bring people together.
