Top performers in the yet to be released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations have been urged to consider giving motivational talks in their former schools as a way of giving back to the community.

Speaking to journalists in Kisumu on Monday, Rangwe Constituency Development Fund chairman Michael Nyangi said university students should always remember schools and communities from where they have come.

Mr Nyangi who is working with college going students through a community based group, Kochia Community Development Organisation in Homa Bay county said through such plans, the top performers encourage their followers to work hard, prepare well for examinations in a bid to better their future.

He encouraged parents and local leaders to support the students in starting and developing such initiatives saying it is the only way the young ones can contribute towards development of the nation especially in the rural areas.

“I think we should borrow a leaf from developed nations who have various Corporate Social Responsibilities within and outside their nations by encouraging our young ones to make such initiatives while they still can,” said the CDF boss.
