Voter registration in Kibera slums entered its third day today countrywide with a massive number of locals and residents within Kibera slums turning up to register as voters.
Residents who have come out to register the most are youths. They have promised to register as voters and participate fully in the coming general election.
"I never registered as a voter in 2013 because I had not attained the required age. I also had no identity card by then. I am going to register today now that I meet the qualification to participate in electing able leaders,” said Peter Ombati, one of the youths.
Jared Ouru, another youth said he is going to mobilise other youths to register so that their voices will be heard come 2017.
"I regret the decision I made in the past. I elected bad leaders who are not of help as at now but come 2017 I will not repeat the same thing,” said Ouro.
Robert Muhambe, said that in the coming election, no one will dictate to him whom he should vote for. He says he will make the choice independently.
