National Council for People with Disabilities Uasin Gishu County Chairman Titus Yego has urged the county government to built a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities.
Yego said that a rehabilitation centre will ensure the disabled get all the necessary assistance for them to run their businesses smoothly.
"It is sad that people with disabilities in the North Rift have only two rehabilitation centres. This is a drop in the ocean compared to what they need," he said.
He said the two rehabilitation centers are in Kericho and Baringo.
"The rehabilitation centre will equip them with life skills and knowledge through education, hence improving their livelihoods," he said.
He said people living with disabilities will also be given wheel chairs, reading and hearing material.
