The youths led by their chairperson Geoffrey Mengo, said that they are conducting a civic education to urge youths to acquire IDs and voting cards in preparation for the 2017 elections.
Speaking to this Hivisasa writer, Mr. Mengo urged his fellow youths to elect leaders based on merit saying that they will not be hoodwinked again.
"We the youths have been used for a long time by selfish leaders who don't remember us after electing them. We will not allow this to continue," he said.
"I am asking the youths to be armed with voting cards so that we can eliminate the incumbent leadership because they have failed us totally," he said.
The youths leader noted that governor James Ongwae's government had sidelined the constituency while giving out contracts.
"We have no youth from our constituency who is a contractor; the governor gave us false promises that he would consider youth from our area, a promise he has been overlooking," alleged the youth leader.
