A man was arraigned before a Nakuru court on Thursday charged with obtaining money from a woman by falsely pretending to be in a position to help sister to be recruited to national police service.
Bernard Ooga Onganga, jointly with others not before the court was accused of allegedly obtaining Sh507, 160 from Grace Muthoni Kinuthia to assist her sister Beatrice Nyambura to be recruited in the national police service on diverse dates between April 24, 2015 and August 18, 2015.
Ooga also faces a second account of the same charge where he is accused of unlawfully and intentionally making a document; namely the police recruitment application form without the authority or excess from people authorised on April 20 at an unknown place within Kenya.
On the third account, the suspect is accused of unlawfully making a police letter of clearance which he intended to use to defraud Muthoni on June 15, 2015 at an unknown place within Kenya.
On the fourth account, he is alleged to have made a letter of appointment which he intended to use to defraud Muthoni on September 3.
Ooga is also facing a fifth account of making a document namely a clearance report from the national police service on July 27, at an unknown place within Kenya.
It’s alleged that he pretended that he was in position to help Muthoni’s sister Nyambura join the national police service and its by that virtue that he received the money.
He was arrested on September 16 and taken Nakuru police station.
Appearing before Senior Principle Magistrate Joe Omido, he pleaded not guilty and was released on Sh200,000 bond with surety of a similar amount and an alternative cash bail of Sh100,000.
Omido also ordered Ooga to be taken to hospital for treatment after he told the court that he was feeling unwell.
The case will be heard on October 28.
