Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop Cornelius Korir has condemned politicians from the Jubilee side for holding prayers which are politically instigated, and whose aim is not praying but attacking each other.

Speaking after meeting Kalenjin Global Welfare Society members where they discussed about peaceful coexistence of people in the region, Korir urged politicians not to mix politics with prayers.

"I am saddened by the politicians' move of holding prayers every weekend in the name of praying for Deputy President William Ruto and Joshua Sang only to find out that what is being said there is who fixed who, which is not good and can lead to enmity between the people," he said.

He further noted that he does does not advocate for the prayer meetings to include political utterances, and should be done in one central place where Ruto should be brought forward for him to be prayed for, instead of spending public funds holding prayer meetings that are politically motivated in every town.

"I do support the prayers meetings, but I urge politicians not to use the prayer meeting to spread their political agendas, since according to the bible, this is wrong and such political utterances may lead to war between the worrying tribes," he said.

He urged Kenyans to live harmoniously with on another, and not to allow themselves to be divided either politically, religiously or based on tribal affiliations.
