Accompanied by Kiambu youth and sports CeC Machel Waikenda on Tuesday, Manjari said that health institutions in the county were doing their best as most of them had received more patients that their bed capacity thus transferring them to other hospitals.
"We are hiring more private counselors who will mentor and empower the alcoholics to ensure that they reform and become useful members f society,"he said
Waikenda said that his aim is to ensure no youth is idle, especially after abandoning alcohol and other drugs saying that strategies were underway to initiate projects to engage the youth in the county
“The governor has introduced the hustler fund and we are also hiring the reformed alcoholics as casual labourers in county government projects to ensure they have something to do and they earn a living,” Waikenda said.
According to Waikenda, most of those he spoke to have vowed to reform and are now focusing to make their lives better.
