The body of a middle-aged man was Wednesday morning found dumped on the Kikuyu–Nairobi Road.
Kikuyu Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Senior Inspector Joshua Arende said they suspect the deceased was robbed by his assailants who later cut his body. He said the deceased had deep cuts on his head, hands and back.
Arende said the body was discovered by matatu operators who later reported the matter to the police.
Police suspect that the killing happened early Wednesday, and that it was a robbery with violence incident, added the OCS.
He said the body was taken to Kikuyu Hospital mortuary and investigations into the incident are underway.
“We have launched investigations into the killing and we are going to get those involved in this act. However, I want to warn criminals involved in such robberies that their days are numbered and they will all be brought to book,’’ added the inspector.
Thomas Muia a matatu operator plying the Kikuyu-Nairobi route said he was going to work at around 4:45am when he saw the man’s body lying on the ground and decided to alert the police.
