The county government has started a street lighting project aimed at giving Nyamira town a facelift.
For the first time, the town will have lighting on the streets thanks to the project which will be rolled out to other towns in future.
Transport, Roads and Public Works CS Kepha Osoro said besides giving the town a facelift, it is also meant to improve security in the town by lighting the dark streets which had become a haven for criminals.
He, however, said the funds allocated for the project are not adequate adding that the county government executive will be seeking the approval of the county assembly to have more funds set aside in the next financial year.
He also added that the county will be lighting up other towns that are in within the county to ensure that all the residents benefit.
