Hospital ward MCA Mwangi Wamwangi and his nominated counterpart Florence Njeri on Tuesday led a delegation of well wishers and counselors in celebrating Christmas with the remands and prisoners at the Thika main and women prison.
The delegation further donated food stuffs among other items to the prisoners.
The remands and prisoners who had the least bond were helped to clear them and released.
The governor William Kabogo Gitau is expected to visit the prison on 31st of December to help in creating more room in the prisons which currently holds more than 775 prisoners among them 495 remands and 7 children who have all been born in prison.
However no woman remand nor prisoner was released on Tuesday as they had huge bonds. The leaders vowed to ensure that they were out of the prison during the next meeting where the governor will be helping them clear their bills.
The prisoners also had a chance to be beautified by a group of voluntary cosmetologist from Thika town.
