Kivumbini ward representative Vitalis Okelo says the decision by Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama to decamp from the Orange Democratic Movement will not weaken the party in the county.
Speaking Sunday at Kivumbini Harvest Church, Okelo who is also the minority party whip in the county assembly said instead, Arama's departure will leave ODM more organised.
He claimed Arama has been the cause of conflicts in te Orange party, Nakuru branch noting that his departure will be a blessing in disguise.
"Arama has said that he will not be in ODM in 2017 and we want to tell him that ODM Nakuru branch will even be stronger without him. We are not worried about his decamping from ODM,"said Okelo.
The MCA accused Arama of using his position as MP to influence people in Nakuru West to decamp from ODM due to his own differences with the party leader.
"Its not right for Arama to tell people of Nakuru West to decamp ODM just because he has fallen out with the party leader,"he said.
At the weekend while speaking in Nyamira County, Arama said ODM had lost direction and asked the Gusii community to look for an alternative party in readiness for the 2017 elections.
