Kisii residents have been warned against reckless buying of plots in Kisii town and other places in the county.
Speaking to this reporter on Thursday in Kisii town, Kisii County chairperson for Lands Board, Ombasa Omweno noted plots are being sold to multiple buyers.
Mr Omweno asked any interested person in buying a plot to do thorough research so that they do not fall victims.
He blamed blockers for misleading and hoodwinking their clients focusing only on the commission.
"We have had issues related to land. Plots in busy centers like Kisii town and interior parts of the county are being sold to even up to four people. This is dangerous and for that matter, I warn anybody who wants to buy to be wary of blockers."
Some of the places he said to be having problems in multiple selling of plots include Jogoo and Nyanchwa.
The chairperson accused the department of lands of laxity and non-responsible for issuing multiple titles to one plot.
He challenged the ministry to solve the issue that he noted has caused fatalities in various parts of the county.
