Kibera bodaboda operators have been advised and cautioned against driving while drunk.

Speaking on Wednesday at Makina Village in Kibera, the bodaboda stage chairperson, Wilfred Osido, said that many riders in the area do drive while drunk.

''It is against the law to drive while drunk. The road rules and regulations require one to drive while sober. It risks your life as well as that of the passenger you are carrying,'' he said.

The chairman added that most accidents occur when drivers are drunk and said that this can be reduced if riders become more cautious and attentive to rules on the road. He further went on to caution the drivers telling that if they caught drunk driving, action would be taken against them.

This remarks by Osido came right after an incident last week, whereby, a rider caused an accident because of drunk driving.
