The body of a 38-year-old woman who was kidnapped by unknown people on Saturday in Gitaru was Wednesday found dumped in a bush in Kikuyu along Kikuyu-Nairobi road.
The woman, identified as Faith Mwende, was coming from her shop in Gitaru at around 9pm on Saturday.
The body was identified by a passerby and reported the matter to the police.
According to Thomas Njuguna, the husband of the deceased, they have been looking for the woman since she was kidnapped.
He said that he had reported the matter to different police stations, visited hospitals and even mortuaries.
"I just hope that justice will delivered following the brutal killing of my wife and those behind this act will be brought to book," said Njuguna.
He also pleaded with the police to assure them of security following the killing as he felt his life and those of his two daughters were in danger.
Confirming the incident, Kikuyu OCPD Mutune Maweu said that the body had three bullet wounds on the head.
He said that one suspect is already being held for questioning.
He said police have launched thorough investigations into the matter and has assured the family of justice.
He also assured the family of their safety.
The body was taken to Kikuyu Hospital mortuary.
