Kiambu TNA coordinator Gladys Chania has urged leaders in the county to sensitise residents on government services.
Speaking at Karura village in Kiambaa Constituency on Saturday, Chania noted that most locals are not aware of services provided by the government.
She noted that locals need to be informed about services being offered by the government to enable them to seek the services.
“It is unfortunate that residents are not aware of the services being provided by the national and the county governments,” she said.
The coordinator stated that leaders have a responsibility to inform their people of what is happening.
She said that people must be involved in development projects adding that it their right to be engaged.
Chania on the same note challenged locals to seek information about what the government is offering in terms of services.
Meanwhile, Chania has denied reports in some sections of the media that she criticised the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for carrying out voter registration at entertainment joints.
Chania said that the IEBC has the mandate of carrying voter registration anywhere in the country.
“Reports in some sections of the media that I criticised IEBC for setting up voter registration centres at entertainment joints are untrue,” she said.
Chania urged residents and more so youth who have not registered as voters to use the remaining time to register.
“People who have not registered as voters should use this time to register before the voter registration period lapses,” she said.
