Kiambu County TNA Coordinator Gladys Chania has asked youth to shun illegal activities and instead join their leaders in championing for development.
Chania said that engaging in unlawful acts is not a solution to the problems facing young people.
Speaking when she led youth and residents in a clean up exercise at Kimende Town in Lari Sub-County on Saturday, Chania said that youth can make their lives better if they shun illegal activities.
The TNA coordinator said young people have a crucial role to play in the development of the society.
Chania noted that development will be realised only if the youthful generation is fully engaged.
“Our young people should shun bad activities like crime and drug abuse and instead work on development activities like environmental conservation,” she said.
Chania urged youth in Kimende to be on the front line in protecting the environment, adding that conservation of the environment will see the area achieve its development goals.
“Environmental conservation should be championed by everyone and my appeal is to the youth to lead the exercise,” she said.
The Kiambu TNA coordinator urged the county government to put in place proper mechanisms that will ensure a clean environment.
