A tutor at a famous tertiary college in Mombasa has decried the manner in which education institutions are handling education and exams nowadays.

Speaking in Mombasa, Mr Albert who is a principal in one of the thriving colleges in the region has said that education is slowly losing its meaning following the recent cases of cheating that were witnessed in some of the counties.

He, however, blamed it on the education ministry which has enabled a trend of leaking exams to the public before the children sit for the actual papers so as to receive good results not putting into account the dangers that they are posing to the students.

"The students no longer struggle to achieve good grades anymore since they know that they will get the exam leakage anyhow. This is posing grave consequences on the future of education", he reminisced.

He added that tough penalties should be spelt on the culprits so as to put an end to this chronic ailment.

He however lauded the good performance displayed by schools in Mombasa county citing the facts as disciplined teachers and students, hard work and determination.

He echoed the Minister of Education Fred Matiang'i 's sentiments that it is time to end the nonsense of exam anomalies once and for all.
