Maseno health officer, George Odhiambo has cautioned locals against buying drugs over the counter and failing to check the expiry date.
Speaking to this writer on Tuesday in Maseno he said he has received cases of a number of people complaining of complications after taking some drugs.
He said most people ignorantly take drugs without checking the expiry dates which can be very dangerous.
“Always ensure you check the indicated expiry date of any drug before taking it. It is healthy and it will ensure your safety. Some drugs may be forgotten in the shelve and these clinical officers are human and may give you the expired medicine. Be very cautious.” warned George Odhiambo.
He also cautioned those selling drugs blindly to customers that stern legal action will be taken against them in case a case arises of such.
“Those who sell drugs carelessly to customers without checking to ensure the drugs are still usable should cease. This is very risky. Stop the greed for money and ensure the safety of your money.
