Managements of entertainment clubs in Kisii town have been warned against allowing underage persons into the joints especially during the festive season, and afterwards.

Chege said the government will also consider suspending pubs that will be caught committing the offense and warned of possible revocation of their business permits.
“Entertainment pubs are meant for adults. The police will not hesitate to take action against offenders. The law ought to be respected and clubs that will be found on the wrong will be suspended from operating and may have their licenses revoked,” he said.
Chege also urged the pubs to be vigilant to ensure no impersonation of persons takes place to boost security during the festive season.
“We are aware that some people are fond of impersonation. Guards who man clubs must do thorough search to ensure people with intentions of committing illicit acts are not allowed in. This is a very important period in the Christian calendar and some people may take advantage to attack others in such gatherings,” he said.
He also urged guards to disallow youngsters who report to pubs with waiting cards (as alternatives to national IDs).
