Kiambu Commissioner Mr Alex Nkoyo has warned police officers in the county against engaging in bribery.

Speaking to journalists after attending a security meeting at the Kiambu headquarters on Tuesday, Nkoyo said he will not tolerate corrupt officers.

The commissioner said he has received information from some people that some traffic officers could be engaging in bribery.

“My office is investigating information that some traffic officers could be engaging in bribery. Those implicated will be dealt with accordingly,” said Nkoyo.

Nkoyo said that corrupt police officers will not be tolerated in the service, adding that appropriate measures have been put in place to nab corrupt officers.

The Kiambu commissioner stated that his office is working closely with other government agencies to eliminate cases of corruption in the service. Nkoyo asked members of the public to report cases of bribery, demanded by police or any other person.

Meanwhile, Nkoyo has asked motorists in the county to adhere to road regulations this festive season.

The commissioner said more traffic officers will be station on major roads to crack the whip on rogue motorists.

“We have entered the festive season and it will be important for all road users to adhere to the regulations,” said Nkoyo.

Nkoyo stated that road accidents that are common during festivities will reduce if road users adhere to the stipulated laws.
