Thika West sub-county administrator Janet Mumbi has assured motorists and residents in Thika town that construction of various roads connecting the town to major highways is on course.
Mumbi who spoke to journalists on the Thika-Gatitu Road on Friday where the road is undergoing an upgrade, said all the roads will be completed as scheduled without delays.
"There are some people who are claiming that the roads have taken longer than expected. Nothing could be further from the truth. The contractors have assured us that they will deliver the roads on the scheduled time and there should be no cause of alarm," said Mumbi.
The administrator said the ongoing road construction had affected many motorists, business people and other road users negatively and that many were eager to have them completed.
"We had to endure the disruptions that come with road expansions and repairs but at the end of it all, we shall have a more efficient road network that would make Thika town easily accessible," she said.
