The county Government of Nyamira has been challenged to fulfill the promises it gave the residents before next general election.
According to Gesima ward residents the county has not done much as it promised during their campaigns.
Led by Joseph Mogira they have accused the county government of its slow pace of drilling a well at Nyamiranga as it had promised.
Mogire said that it is a surprise that the country government can not fulfill its promises of drilling the well at Nyamiranga as one way of reducing the long distance residents trek in aid of search of water.
“The county government of Nyamira has been talking about the drilling of the well, unfortunately, nothing has been done, we would like to remind them that we need a well for our daily challenge of water to come to an end,” said Mogire.
Sarah Mokaya is a woman from Nyamiranga area who spoke to us on Sunday by saying that they walk in a long distance in search of water.
She also appealed to the county to consider them as women since they face more challenges during the dry season.
“we urge our county government to remember drilling the well at Nyamiranga as one way of helping us get water,” added Mokaya.
