Nyamira County commissioner Josephine Onunga has called on all youths in the county to restrain from being used by politicians to disrupt peace.
Speaking in her office on Wednesday, Onunga took issue with politicians who were taking advantage of unemployment among the youths to misuse them for personal gains.
She said many youths have fallen prey of the politicians, and are being used to cause mayhem in the region.
"I want to urge all the youths in our county to restrain themselves from being used by some individuals to cause tension in our region for their personal gains.They should not be so desperate to an extent of being manipulated for somebody's interests," she said.
Onunga urged the youth to embrace agriculture and also form Saccos in order to access government funds to improve their livelihoods.
"Our youth should embrace agriculture as it is one of the most income generating sector as white collar jobs have been scarce," she added.
Meanwhile, Nyamira County government has allocated over Sh30million for youths affairs.
