Speaking during an exhibition organised by the county government on Friday, the director of culture Mr Hassan Haji said they have set aside space for the artists to showcase their work.

His said the county appreciates the good work being done by the artists.

"We have set aside the Gikomba Street where visual artists will be allowed to sell their work free of charge, once per month. We will provide tents and tables for them," Haji said.

He said the move is aimed at creating employment opportunities for the locals and also to ensure that people appreciate art and make a living out of it.

"I urge all visual artists to form groups for them to benefit from funds being given by the county and national government to improve their work and livelihood," he said.
