Kisumu County workers have been urged to turn for the ongoing job evaluation that seeks to improve between employer- employee relations.
County commissioner John Elungata said Wednesday the current evaluation is set to enable employees get promotions and salary increment.
“We cannot just give you a promotion or pay rise out of the blue. We must evaluate the work you are doing first,” said Elanguta.
The commissioner said many workers are shying away from the exercise because they think it is a witch-hunt.
He said the evaluation is for the good of all workers at the county and it is not intended to victimise anyone.
He urged the county staff going for the evaluation to refrain from giving false information as it will be not of any benefit to them and the county government.
Elanguta who was addressing the press on the sidelines of the National Government Service Delivery coordination Committee meeting said the county’s goal was to improve working conditions of all employees.
He said the exercise does not happen often and all workers should utilize it in order to get the best returns out of their labour to the government.
