Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba has warned Kenya against pulling out from the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Speaking during a lecture he gave at Kisii University on Monday, Namwamba said membership to ICC was an individual state decision, to which pulling out was a state's decision.
He, however, warned that pulling out will result in a high level of impunity that the judiciary will not be able to handle.
"ICC acts as a human rights defense mechanism and deals with impunity that our own judiciary cannot handle," said Namwamba.
The legislator, who is also ODM secretary general, added that the relationship between Kenya and ICC should not be about the cases we have.
He urged Kenyans to stand with their country, insisting that a number who lost lives in the 2007 post-election violence must be brought to justice.
