Teachers from Borabu constituency have been challenged to remain committed to delivering quality education in area schools for the sake of improving performances in national exams.
Dr Nyandoro Kambi, who delivered revision and textbooks to Matongo primary on Monday said the region was likely to improve its performances in national exams if teachers remain committed by attending to learners as stipulated in the education act.
He urged school heads and education officers to remain vigilant in ensuring teachers reported to school.
“Our teachers must remain committed in delivering quality education if at all we want our schools to improve in national exams. Cases of inexcusable absenteeism must be dealt with by educational offices and schools heads so that our children are able to cover syllabuses in time,” said the aspiring Borabu MP.
He said the Nyandoro Foundation will continue with its philanthropic activities of supporting institutions and urged teachers to make use of the revision materials donated to adequately prepare students.
‘The Nyandoro Foundation is determined to continue supporting our institutions across the constituency. All we want to see is teachers committing themselves to guide our children to success. I know we can do it if they use the revision materials we are donating,” he added.
The institution’s PTA chair Kennedy Mogire hailed the foundation and pledged to work closely with teaching staff towards yielding better performances.
"As and institution, we are very happy to receive these learning materials and on behalf of parents, I want to promise that we will cooperate with teachers to ensure our performances in KCPE improve this year from last year’s 235 marks,” he said.
