Ndeiya is one amazing place and going by how fast it is becoming popular, many things need to change.

The big ones first.

Residents in this area voted for all representatives from the MCA to the highest office holder, the president. However, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Despite the ‘country’ being full of amazing sceneries and hospitable people, some structures have made it almost inaccessible.

Mobile providers’ network problems were addressed a long time ago and even though you may not get 4G on your phone, you’ll be able to tweet or be on Facebook at relatively good speeds. And, you don’t have to climb trees to get the service.

Talking of speeds, the infamous Probox cars are the kings of the roads here. Imagine being packed like sardines mpaka you feel your insides squish as you go home for the weekend or if you’re a visitor, well, for whatever business.

The big deal though is when it rains and the roads become a nightmare. Last December, those who were visiting had stories to tell to the nations… For real.

I happened to visit and it rained. The rain wasn’t cat and dogs na hata sijui how to explain it. Then, the craze to get back to the city where everything, everybody believes, works. Not so though.

I get to the stage na magari hazifiki. Kumbe there was a conspiracy since the roads were impassable. (I have video evidence here).

The Probox-es could not panda the muddy mlima and we had to trek to them. It wasn’t funny since there was soaking all over and the shoes were covered in mish-mash of everything.

But, the question though is, why do we have to have all those reps if basic functions which were to be devolved do not yet trickle down?

Naskia hata jana kulikuwa kunoma since it rained the whole day and Mung’etho, Royo (could be Royal) and other places were impassable.

Well, if you’re into those adrenaline activities where cars revving stuck in the mud make your heart skip beats, then Ndeiya is the place to be when it rains.

Do not bring a Vitz or those teeny tiny cars unless you’re planning a funeral for them though. We need to rethink our priorities as Ndeiya people.
