Deputy President William Ruto has sent a stern warning to civil servants engaging in graft that their days are numbered.

Speaking during a fundraiser at St Peter Catholic Church in Laare on Sunday, Ruto said any public servant found engaging in graft will be brought to book.

He told them not to drag their bosses in graft scandals they were involved in, saying they will be personally held accountable.

Ruto also asked all institutions dealing with matters corruption to up their game, noting that corruption, mismanagement and wastage of public resources must come to an end for development to be achieved in the country.

“All companies or directors of companies corrupting civil servants will be removed from the list of businesses dealing with government and blacklisted altogether,” he said.

He also condemned tribalism as a hindrance to national cohesion in the country.

"We should not stretch and confine our security agencies in dealing with local internal issues when we have a bigger threat out there. As communities, we should resolve our issues amicably instead of resorting to fights. The government has provided our security teams with enough equipment and resources to secure this country," said Ruto.

He said Kenyans must strive to be on the right side of history by embracing values that shunned tribalism and removing the vice from the country’s politics and leadership, noting that tribalism was the biggest challenge to national cohesion and had a very high potential of fragmenting the country.

Leaders from the Jubilee coalition who accompanied the DP at the event were; MPs Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East), Mithika Linturi (Igembe South), Joseph Samal (Isiolo North) and Meru Women Representative Florence Kajuju.
