The National transport and safety authority chairman Lee Kinyanjui has warned drunkard drivers that they will face the law if caught driving while drunk.
"Any driver found drinking and driving will be arrested; we want to make this coming festive season different by reducing the number of accidents on our roads," said Kinyanjui.
The NTSA boss was speaking on Saturday in Naivasha in a road safety meeting targeting the coming festive season. He said that many accidents in the country happen during the festive season and a huge percentage are caused by drunk drivers especially with regards to public transport.
Kinyanjui further said that the NTSA and National road safety trust NRST are looking for partners from the private sector that will assist the country in reducing road carnage in the country.
"NTSA in conjunction with NRST are now looking for partners from the private sector who will work hand in hand with the two organisations to save lives on our roads," he said.
He urged members of the public to immediately call the emergency number whenever they notice unusual behaviour from matatu operators which can lead to an accidents. He also warned private sector drivers that they will not spared if found on wrong side of the law either.
