Kiambu County TNA Coordinator Gladys Chania has asked elected leaders in Kiambu to provide services to the people and initiate development projects that will empower residents.
Speaking on Wednesday during a public day organised by the Gatongora location community policing committee in Ruiru, Chania said that the main work of leaders is to ensure locals have access to services.
She said that leadership is all about serving the people and making sure that their voices are heard and represented.
Chania stated that time has come for leaders elected by the people to take their roles seriously.
She said development will be realised if leaders push for proper policies and laws.
“Elected leaders should know that they have a duty to promote and improve the living standards of their people,” said the Kiambu TNA coordinator.
Chania at the same time urged chiefs and local leaders not to relent on the fight against illicit brews.
He said that society will transform and realise its development goals if illicit brews and other social evils are fought.
Chania was accompanied by nominated Member of Parliament (MP) Isaac Mwaura with local administrators.
