Potato farmers in Molo have incurred great losses due to the El Nino rains experienced in the area on November and December last year.
Farmers said they have nothing to harvest.
"Potato production has been hampered due to rains that lead to potato rotting," one farmer said.
The farmer added that despite spraying the crop with the recommended pesticide, the was bad affecting the crop badly.
"There has been excess moisture and despite spraying the chemicals. We are going to make losses," he added.
A spot check in the area by this writer showed that potato crops in many farms dried before maturing.
" This is about loss. I have no choice but accept. It's a season where potatoes quantity will be little," another farmer, who declined to be named, said.
