Kisii Finance CeC will table a report at the county assembly on how money was spent in various projects in the county on Monday, December 7.

Addressing the press on Thursday in his office, Kisii County Assembly Speaker Ondieki Okerosi said the date was changed from Friday, December 4 because of the ongoing anti-corruption workshop at Nyakoe Hotel.

"We have been forced to change the date to Monday because there is an important event taking place at Nyakoe hotel. All ministers and chief officers are at the function spearheaded by The Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)," said Okerosi.

He said the press and members of the public will be attending the open forum intended to know how money has been spent, on which projects and their status.

This comes after a report was tabled in the assembly by Finance Committee indicating money spent on various projects in the county.

A section of members of the assembly took issue with the report alleging most of the projects indicated to have been completed had not even started.

Masimba MCA Joash Orora wondered why that report showed that Masima Sub-District hospital had been renovated yet he says nothing had taken place in the facility.

The MCAs also questioned where the Sh22 million indicated to have been spent to have built the governor's house went saying the house was non-existent.

That prompted members of the assembly to demand the Finance CeC, Kodeck Omwancha to appear in person and explain the report.

Public Works CeC is also expected to be grilled over an alleged false report that the abattoir in Daraja Mbili was renovated.
