The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) will for the first time hold the African employers' summit in conjunction with Business Africa so as to help solve unemployment in Africa.
Speaking after the federation's coast region Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mombasa on Tuesday, FKE Chairperson Linus Gitahi said the summit is important to everyone since there are so many unemployed youth in Africa.
"Unemployment in Africa is one of the biggest threats facing the development of the continent. What we are doing is bringing together the private sector and the government regulatory agencies in order to have a conversation on how to create jobs," said Linus.
The summit was supposed to be held in November 2015 at Diani but was canceled due to logistics.
"We were to hold the event last year in Diani but due to all the problems our ferries were facing, we decided to postpone it as we were expecting important people and we didn't want to inconvenience them in terms of delays,” Said Mr Zulfikar Haruna, FKE Coast branch chairperson.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will be the chief guest in the two-day event which will be held in Naivasha on May 5, 2016.
