Kisii County has put measures in place to enable students who are joining form one to benefit from county bursaries.
According to the Kisii County governor, James Ongwae, the program is going to benefit students who are joining form one as one way of helping them to continue with their education.
''We have mechanisms in place which will enable students joining form one to equally benefit from county bursaries. The program has been waiting for the selection of students and now they are going to benefit from it as they are joining to their respective schools,'' said Ongwae.
Ongwae also said that the program of bursaries in wards would benefit needy children who either have no parents or are poor.
''As the county, through the bursaries program we are devoted to make sure that all needy children benefit and that is why we have waited for form ones to benefit from it,'' added Ongwae.
In addition, he added that the county will add the amount to wards so that all students can benefits.
''We would like to let our people know that time we will add the amount so that all needy students our wards can benefit hence I urge our members of county assembly to equally distribute this money to the needy children,” said Ongwae.
