A four year old child was found dead on Saturday in a Nyamira river after disappearing for a night from his home.
Dahir Abudulilahi, the son of a police officer at Esise, was said to have gone missing from his home on Friday evening only for his remains to be found floating at Esise River.
According to area police boss, Antony Onyango the child might have been swept away by floods following a heavy downpour or he drowned in the river.
The officer said they are conducting investigation to establish the exact cause of the minor's death.
"The child was found dead on Saturday morning after disappearing from his home on Saturday evening. We suspect that he was swept away by floods since there were heavy rains on the day he disappeared," said Onyango.
He added: "We are investigating to know the exact cause of his death."
The remains of the child were buried on the same day-Saturday in the Muslim cemetery as per their culture.
