A cleric in Maseno has called on government to give Kenyans answers regarding the Kenya Defense Forces soldiers who disappeared in Somalia.

Speaking at a church service in Maseno, Rev Mark Okoyo of Maseno AIC Chapel urged the government to respond swiftly to the plea of families of affected KDF soldiers.

He urged the government to respond quickly to the cries of Kenyans who lost their loved ones during the attack in Somalia.

“The government ought to take swift action to trace the lost KDF families following the attack. It should also create clear channels of communication that allows for the families and the government to adequately communicate," said Okoyo.

He urged his congregation to pray for the affected families of the killings.

He said Kenyans have every right to know the whereabouts of the lost soldiers.

The attack by militant group Al Shabaab led to the killing of a dozen Kenyan soldiers.

Reports indicate that over 60 soldiers died during the attack.
