Uasin Gishu County Taxis and Boda boda Association Chairman Richard Mukhobero has urged the county government to fulfill its promise for a parking lot to Uganda Road taxi and boda boda operators.

Speaking in his office on Tuesday, Mukhobero said despite the county government promising to allocate land to Uganda Road taxi operators after it evicted them from their parking lot, nothing has been done to date.

"Our members on Uganda Road are really suffering since they have no where to park their vehicles and motorbikes as they wait for customers," he said.

He said the county government through the Roads ministry had promised to buy them land to use as a parking lot but nothing has been done.

"As the chairman of boda bodas and taxis, my members are really suffering. I urge the county government to allocate us a place where they can park their vehicles. They are stranded while doing business and yet they promptly pay taxes," he added.

He called upon the Roads minister to act with speed to address the problem since at the moment they don’t have designated places to park their vehicles making it hard for customers to locate them.
