Members of the Fourth estate in Nakuru have been lauded for the significant role they play in educating, entertaining and informing the public.

Governor Kinuthia Mbugua says through adhering to basic journalism code of conduct, Nakuru will be well marketed to international investors who will access the right information through different media outlets.

"Nobody can underestimate the power of the media, personally, I am pleased with what our journalists are doing in Nakuru," he said.

Speaking on Tuesday at the county headquarters after hosting Nation Media Group Nakuru bureau chief Caroline Wafula who paid him a courtesy call, the governor vowed to support journalists owing to the role they play in society.

"Let all of us be objective, impartial, fair and factual in our reporting to avoid setting uncertain moods with the public," he advised.

He also revealed of a plan to hold a breakfast meeting with senior officers and editors of major media outlets and bureaus in the county in the near future.
